IT - Principal Engineer – Backbase Platform

Required Qualifications - 3+ years of software engineering experience, with several years in a senior/staff/principal-level technical role. - Proven, hands-on experience designing and delivering solutions on the Backbase Engagement Banking Platform (DBS, Journeys, Identity, Entitlements). - Deep expertise in Java and the Spring / Spring Boot ecosystem, on which Backbase services are built. - Strong background in microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, event-driven design (e.g., Kafka), and system integration in a complex enterprise environment. - Solid experience with front-end technologies relevant to Backbase (Angular / Web Components / Backbase Design System). - Experience with cloud and container platforms (Kubernetes, Docker) and CI/CD pipelines. - Strong understanding of security, performance, scalability, and resilience in mission-critical systems. - Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to influence across teams. Preferred Qualifications - Prior experience delivering digital banking or fintech platforms at scale. - Familiarity with core banking integration and payment / card systems. - Backbase certifications or demonstrable participation in large-scale Backbase implementations and upgrades. - Experience working in Agile / Scrum squad-based delivery models.
